Welcome

I am so glad you’re here. Let me take the time to introduce myself and my background. My name is Ginet Casido. I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, and was a Software Engineer for over ten years. That whole time, I tried a variety of outlets in search of creative fulfillment. I had an event design and coordination business with one of my best friends. I have a certificate in Event Management from the University of San Diego. Pre-kids, I loved reading books and enjoyed writing. I even participated in NaNoWriMo! I also had a lifestyle blog that I probably spent too much time on while in my cubicle (safe to say now).

I realized my true path in life was to help others through interior design. In fact, it was always interior design! Growing up, I was obsessed with HGTV (back then when they had Candice Olson and other real interior designers). My favorite family pastime is touring model homes (we still like to do it). After visiting a model home, I used to draw up the floor plan then include furniture. I would also come up with my own floor plans, made my dream home, and even tried to build it up with paper. I took career assessment surveys in middle and high school, and they both indicated Interior Design. Why did it take me a while to follow all the signs?? Let’s save that for another time.

Anyway, I really tried to avoid going back to school, but I knew the proper knowledge and training was necessary to provide you with the best level of service. I graduated from the CIDA-accredited Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. It was an intense program, but I graduated ready to gain professional experience. I worked in both the commercial and residential worlds of interior design. After careful analysis and consideration, I knew it was time to start Ginet Casido Interiors.
